Former international goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Maiouf has entered a new phase of preparation, as he has begun studying several professional offers in preparation to choose his next destination before the start of the new sports season.

Al-Maiouf, who is 39 years old, is working on enhancing his physical readiness during the current summer period, undergoing a special training program at a sports center in Riyadh.

According to a special source for Al-Riyadiyah, the veteran goalkeeper seeks to regain his physical form and sensitivity with the ball before making his final decision and signing with one of the clubs interested in his services.

Al-Maiouf was absent from participating in matches last season after having a short stint with Al-Shabab club, with his last appearance being against Al-Hilal 422 days ago.

Al-Maiouf's last match was on April 21, 2025, against his former team Al-Hilal, which ended in a 2-2 draw as part of the 29th round of the Saudi Roshan League.

The goalkeeper began his career with Al-Hilal, where he played 238 matches with the first team, before moving to Al-Ahli and participating in 139 matches, then returning to Al-Hilal again in 2017.

Al-Maiouf then had experiences with Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab, achieving many championships during his career, most notably seven Saudi league titles and two Asian championships with Al-Hilal.

On the international level, Al-Maiouf represented the Saudi national team in 11 matches, including a match against Russia in the 2018 World Cup, remaining one of the most prominent Saudi goalkeepers in recent years.
