Manchester United Joins Race to Sign Marc Casado
The Spanish club Barcelona is preparing to start its preparations for the new 2025/2026 season, in a journey to defend its domestic titles achieved last season at the expense of its traditional rival Real Madrid, after winning the Spanish league, the cup, and the Spanish super cup under the leadership of coach Hans Flick.
According to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Manchester United has set its sights on Spanish midfielder Marc Casado from Barcelona as one of its targets in the current summer transfer window, joining Chelsea and Arsenal who are also interested in signing him, although none of the clubs have made an official offer yet.
The newspaper clarified that Casado, who is 21 years old, is keen to remain with Barcelona despite the interest from English clubs, preferring to continue under Flick's management, at a time when the Catalan club is looking to ease its wage burdens.
Casado's contract with Barcelona extends until the summer of 2028, and it includes a release clause of 100 million euros. The player participated in 36 matches with the team across all competitions last season, scoring one goal and assisting six goals, while also receiving one red card and three yellow cards.
