The newspaper "Asharq Al-Awsat" reported that the organizing committee for the Saudi Super Cup is considering the option of replacing Al-Hilal if it confirms its withdrawal from the upcoming edition of the tournament scheduled in Hong Kong.

According to sources, Al-Ahli club is the closest candidate to replace Al-Hilal, based on its ranking in the Roshan Saudi League last season, making it a potential substitute in the tournament.

Al-Hilal was supposed to face Al-Qadisiyah in the semi-finals of the tournament, but the blue administration is considering withdrawing from participation due to player fatigue after the Club World Cup.

Reports indicated that Al-Hilal's management is seriously contemplating granting its players additional rest, coinciding with the strong preparations the team is undertaking for the start of the new season both locally and continentally.

The regulations governing the tournament impose a financial penalty that could reach 500,000 Riyals on any club that withdraws without providing acceptable justifications, placing Al-Hilal in a difficult equation between resting and facing penalties.
