Abdulghani Shahid: The match against Al-Shorta will not be easy, but we are Zakho
Zakho Club coach Abdulghani Shahid expressed his great confidence in his players ahead of the match against Al-Shorta in the semi-finals of the Iraq Cup, which will take place tomorrow evening, Saturday, at Zakho International Stadium, confirming that his team did not reach this stage by chance, but as a result of hard work and effort throughout the season.
Abdul Ghani said in his press statements:
"The match against Al-Shorta is not easy; we know the size of the competing team and the distinguished local and foreign players they have, but we in Zakho have the ambition and belief in our ability to compete with the big teams."
He added:
"We respect Al-Shorta a lot, but we are not afraid of them. We have a balanced team that includes players who have proven their worth throughout the season, and our goal is clear: we want to reach the final for the first time in the club's history, and we will play with everything we have to achieve that."
Regarding the preparations for the match, Shahid clarified:
"We have prepared well for the match despite the short time. We focused on the mental and physical aspects and are trying to exploit every possible weakness in the competing team. The players are ready in all respects, and we know exactly what we want from the match."
He also spoke about the anticipated fan support:
"We know that Al-Shorta's fans will be strongly present, but we also trust that Zakho's fans will show up and support the team. This match represents a historic moment, and all the people of Zakho are expecting a lot from us, and we promise them that we will be worthy of their trust."
Abdul Ghani Shahid concluded his remarks by saying:
"Big matches are decided by small details, and focus is our strongest weapon. Zakho is coming for the final ticket, and we will do everything we can to achieve this goal."
It is worth mentioning that Zakho Club has never won the Iraq Cup, and hopes that this season will be the beginning of writing glory, led by their experienced coach Abdulghani Shahid.
