A day before the anticipated match that will bring together Al-Shorta Club and its counterpart Al-Student in the Iraqi Cup competitions, the head coach of the Green Lyre, Moamen Suleiman, made confident statements confirming his team's full readiness to engage in the match, considering that the tournament represents an important milestone at the end of the season, despite the short rest period between the two seasons and the pressure of matches.
Moamen Suleiman said: "The coaching staff of Al-Shorta is continuously working on preparing the players physically and mentally for the match, pointing out that everyone is aware of the magnitude of the responsibility."
He added: "We have a group of players with a winning mentality, and no matter the nature of the match, we always enter with the ambition of winning the title."
Regarding the match against Al-Student
The Al-Shorta coach described the match as important from all aspects, saying:
"Al-Student is a strong team, and they had an excellent season, they have good players, and they deserve respect, but we know our strengths very well, and we will play in our usual way."
About the Super Cup and the short preparations
Moamen said that the team is playing consecutive matches without sufficient rest periods, but he will not treat the Iraqi Cup as a secondary tournament, explaining:
"Despite the fatigue, Al-Shorta plays to win, and we will strive to resolve the match against Al-Student and qualify."
Regarding his future with the team
The Egyptian coach confirmed his continuation with Al-Shorta next season, mentioning that there is a clear plan to strengthen the team with new players, and concluded:
