
Manchester United Announces Johnny Evans' Retirement and Appointment to Administrative Position
Manchester United Football Club announced today, Monday, the official retirement of its defender Johnny Evans from football and his appointment to a new administrative position within the club.
Manchester United clarified in an official statement that Evans, who is 37 years old, has been appointed as the Head of the Loan Department at the club, a position in which he will oversee the performance of players loaned to other clubs.
The statement noted that Evans' career with Manchester United saw him participate in 241 matches during two periods with the team, during which he won several notable titles, including the UEFA Champions League, three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, in addition to two EFL Cup titles.
The club confirmed that Evans, who is currently seeking a coaching license, will work alongside Jason Wilcox, the club's Director of Football, to enhance youth development programs and prepare them for joining the first team.
