The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Dutch midfielder Kees Smit, from AZ Alkmaar, has become a priority for Real Madrid to bolster the midfield during the summer transfer window.

The newspaper clarified that the royal club has been closely monitoring the player recently, especially after his remarkable performance with the Netherlands national team in the UEFA Under-19 Championship, where he won the tournament's Best Player award.

The report confirmed that Kees Smit has become a serious option on Real Madrid's management table, amid confidence in his high technical abilities and his potential to contribute to the organized midfield position, which coach Xabi Alonso is looking to strengthen this summer.

Although there are no official negotiations yet, Smit's name has risen significantly within the Spanish club as a potential alternative to other costly signings, considering he is contracted with Alkmaar until the summer of 2028.
