Porto Coach: We Will Play Against a Strong Opponent and We Need to Win
Martín Anselmi, the Portuguese coach of Porto, confirmed that Al Ahly is a strong opponent and that his team needs to win in the match that brings the two teams together next Tuesday.
Al Ahly will meet Porto early next Tuesday in the third and final round of the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Anselmi said in statements during the press conference: "We will play against a strong opponent in Africa who has won two of the last four African Champions League titles, has a good coach and dynamic players, and is the champion of Egypt."
He added: "We do not want to enter the FIFA Club World Cup in the manner that is in the minds of the fans; we need to win and bring happiness to our supporters."
He continued: "We need to think about ourselves more than thinking about the opponent; we need to compete differently because in the last match we did not play as we wanted, both offensively and defensively; our dignity is hurt, and this is not the image we want to present; we have a chance to change this image."
He concluded: "We do not want to enter the FIFA Club World Cup in this manner; we know that tomorrow is an important day for the city, and we want the celebration to be complete. To achieve that, we need to win and give them that joy."
