The celebrations of Mouloudia Alger for winning the Algerian league title turned into a tragedy when part of the stands at the July 5 Stadium collapsed after the team's match yesterday against Nadi Naft Al-Wasat in the league finale (0-0).

The Algerian Ministry of Health announced today, Sunday, the registration of 3 deaths and more than 70 injuries among the fans, following the fall of supporters from one of the stands at the July 5 Stadium.

Mouloudia fans had gathered in large numbers last night to celebrate their team's victory in the Algerian league title, but the joy quickly turned into a disaster after a part of the barrier separating one of the stands collapsed, causing a large number of fans to fall.

Mouloudia's team won the Algerian league title for the second consecutive time after drawing with their guest Nadi Naft Al-Wasat in the thirtieth and final round of the competition.

The Professional Football League had decided yesterday to cancel the celebration ceremonies and the awarding of the championship trophy to the team, in respect for the incident and in solidarity with the injured and their families.
