Revealing the Future of Haidar Ubaid with Al-Zawraa
At the end of a tough season filled with fluctuations, the indicators are becoming clearer within the corridors of Al-Zawraa Club regarding the upcoming phase, amid increasing fan questions about the fate of coach Haidar Ubaid and veteran goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, following a competitive season in which the team finished as runners-up behind the champions Al-Shorta.
In a special press meeting, Ghith Abdulghani, a member of the interim administrative body of Al-Zawraa Club, opened the pending files clearly and transparently, indicating that the upcoming phase may witness significant transformations in the technical and administrative management, despite praising the efforts of the current season.
Initially, Abdulghani congratulated Al-Shorta Club on winning the Iraqi Stars League title, noting that Al-Zawraa "had a great season despite the difference in capabilities," affirming by saying:
"We worked hard and strived.. It is true that we did not win the league title, but it was our fate to compete until the last round, and this in itself is a positive point and a moral gain that should be built upon."
He continued:
"Al-Zawraa is a big club.. and the fact that it competed against a team with a larger budget and higher capabilities is considered an achievement that should be viewed fairly."
Regarding the sanctions recently applied to some players of the team after the last loss in the league, Abdulghani explained that the interim body made an administrative recommendation to the entity that will take over the club's leadership later, clarifying:
"As an interim body, our mission has ended, but we left the necessary recommendations according to the approved organizational and financial regulations.. based on the principle of reward and punishment."
As for the future of coach Haidar Ubaid, Abdulghani expressed his full support for the man who led the team during a critical stage, stating:
"Haidar Ubaid had an exceptional season and was responsible under difficult circumstances.. We hold on to him and appreciate what he has done, but the matter is now in the hands of the new body that will lead the club, and they will decide his fate."
Although the statements did not directly address the future of veteran goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, the indicators accompanying the team's recent performance and the talk about Al-Zawraa's desire to renew the squad may open the door to new options in the goalkeeper position, especially with the goalkeeper's advancing age and his need for a new challenge, whether within the club or outside it.
However, so far, there are no official decisions regarding his departure or stay, awaiting the outcome of the upcoming administrative meetings.
Despite being away from the title this season, Al-Zawraa emerged with many gains, including strengthening the team's character and renewing confidence in the local staff led by Haidar Ubaid, as well as highlighting the need for real internal development, both in terms of players and administrative approach.
With the arrival of summer, the Al-Nawaris fans remain in a state of constant anticipation to know the features of the future, amid a heavy legacy and a history that refuses to retreat.
