Arnold's Reflections on the Match Against Al-Hilal
Thursday 19-06-2025
Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared in press statements following the draw against Al-Hilal (1-1) in the first round of the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The player said: "My first participation was great. Playing for Real Madrid is a dream for everyone, although we feel disappointed not to have won. Winning every match is an integral part of Real Madrid's mentality. There were many positives, especially in the second half."

He added: "In the second half, we dominated possession, which we lacked in the first half. We need to keep the ball for as long as possible to prevent the opponent from launching counterattacks. In the second half, our performance was better; we forced them to defend more, and we entered the penalty area many times. Penalties are part of football, and no one should take the blame. There are things we need to work on, and I am confident we will perform better in the next match."

Regarding the support of the fans: "It was amazing. I felt the support from the moment I signed. Real Madrid fans are spread all over the world. You feel this support in the hotel, during training, and on social media... We would like to thank them. We had the majority of support in the stands, and it was fantastic."

He concluded: "I have been learning Spanish for two months. When I learned about my arrival, I wanted to learn to adapt. It was important for me. A new country, a new team, and a new city... It's important to show your willingness to adapt to the culture as best as you can. That's what I'm doing."
