Oblak: The referee's decisions were not in our favor, and we have to hold our heads high
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak appeared in press statements after the 4-0 loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the first round of the group stage of the Club World Cup.
The goalkeeper said in his remarks: "This loss leaves a bad mark, it is hard to lose by 4-0, but Paris Saint-Germain was superior. At a crucial moment, the referee's decisions were not in our favor, but this is football."
He added: "Paris Saint-Germain is probably the most brilliant team in the world; they punish you at the slightest opportunity, and they won 4-0, so there is no need to complain about this result. If the score had been 2-1, it would have been very good for us. We conceded goals very easily. There are two matches left, we have to hold our heads high."
Regarding the referee's decisions: "The disallowed goal by Alvarez due to a foul before the goal? The foul may be counted or not, perhaps, but I do not see it clearly. When it was counted, the VAR decided that. I do not understand the meaning of the yellow cards. The red card against Lenglet was a mistake against me, and then one of our players was sent off. It is difficult to play with ten players against eleven against Paris Saint-Germain, so the last minutes, with ten players, were very complicated."
