Al-Karma Deepens Karbala's Wounds and Continues to Shine with a Clean Double
Friday 13-06-2025
Al-Karma Club opened its journey after the international break with a deserved away victory, after defeating its host Karbala Club 2-0 in the match that took place on Friday evening at Karbala International Stadium, on the first day of the 35th round of the Iraqi Stars League.

Al-Karma entered the match with clear confidence, relying on balance between the lines and tactical discipline, and successfully absorbed Karbala's momentum during the early minutes. As time went on, the guests imposed their superiority, until the 31st minute granted them the lead, after a penalty was awarded due to a defensive error from Karbala, which striker Alaa Al-Din Al-Dali successfully converted, placing the ball in the net and giving his team the lead.

Karbala continued its lackluster performance, and the psychological pressure on the players was clearly evident, especially in light of the struggle for survival from relegation. The home team did not show any strong reaction after falling behind; instead, their attempts were random and lacked focus and effectiveness in the final third of the pitch.

In the second half, Al-Karma continued to assert its dominance, and its lines appeared cohesive, closing down spaces against Karbala's individual attempts. In stoppage time, specifically in the 92nd minute, Mohammed Adnan delivered the final blow, as he exploited the confusion in Karbala's defense and scored his team's second goal in a wonderful manner, confirming Al-Karma's complete superiority in the match.

With this victory, Al-Karma raised its tally to 52 points and maintained a comfortable presence in the middle of the table, establishing itself as one of the standout teams this season in terms of performance and stability.

On the other hand, Karbala remained in an unenviable position, stuck at 22 points in 19th place, continuing to bleed points, with no victory since round 27, increasing the likelihood of relegation if matters are not addressed quickly in the remaining rounds.
