RS Berkane has released an official statement responding to circulating news about the transfer of their Senegalese forward Paul Valer Bassein to Iraqi club Al-Karma. The club confirmed that the player is still under a valid professional contract with the team, and any signing he makes with another club would be in violation of his contractual obligations.

The Orange Club clarified through a statement published on its official accounts that Bassin's contract extends until June 30, 2027, emphasizing that the player does not have the right to sign with any other team without prior approval from the club's management or adherence to the applicable legal procedures.

RS Berkane confirmed that any agreement made by the player outside this framework constitutes a clear violation of the terms of the contract binding him to the club. This has prompted the management to take action to protect its legal rights.

The club emphasized that it has begun all legal procedures with the relevant authorities, both nationally and internationally, to protect its interests and defend its legitimate rights in this case, and to take necessary steps according to the governing laws.

This development comes after Al-Karma Club of Iraq announced on Saturday that they have officially signed Senegalese striker Paul Valer Bassin from RS Berkane. It is worth noting that the player had joined the Moroccan team during the summer of 2023 on a four-year contract, following his transfer from Mouloudia Oujda.
