Reports have revealed that negotiations for the transfer of Spanish international Martin Zubimendi, a player for Real Sociedad, to Real Madrid have hit a snag during the summer transfer window, despite the royal club's efforts to strengthen its squad.

Real Madrid will begin its journey in the Club World Cup with a match against Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal on Wednesday, June 18, within a group that also includes Mexico's Pachuca and Austria's Salzburg, in a tournament that will take place in the United States.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", the Zubimendi deal has become extremely complicated for Real Madrid, given Arsenal's management's strong confidence in completing the contract, as the English club intends to pay the release clause estimated at 60 million euros in one go, in addition to offering an annual salary that exceeds the wage cap of the Merengue players.

Real Madrid has so far completed two signings this summer, acquiring defender Dean Huysing from Bournemouth and right-back Alexander Arnold from Liverpool, as part of its plan to reinforce the squad before the start of the new season.
