Renard: We Will Give Everything to Win Against Australia
French coach Hervé Renard emphasized that the team will give its utmost in the decisive match against Australia, playing for victory and to please the fans.
Renard said in a press conference held on Monday: "Tomorrow's match is the last one, and we will play at home. I trust that the fans will fill the stands, and we will give everything we have as we always do; our goal is victory."
He continued: "We take full responsibility for the current situation in the qualifiers, and it is not due to other parties. I do not forget the goal we scored in Australia that was disallowed, even though, in my opinion, it was a valid goal."
He added: "The Australian team has developed significantly under its current coach, achieving remarkable results, and they are in a continuous state of development and high confidence."
The French coach stressed: "We will see how the conditions of the match unfold, and perhaps they will be favorable for us to qualify."
Regarding the pressure from fans, Renard said: "We are in third place, and 99% of people think we are on our way to the playoff, but we have nothing to lose, and we will try to make our fans happy. The most important thing now is to win this international match."
On his team's readiness: "The players are prepared and focused, and we will present a strong match against Australia."
He added: "The players are in good physical condition, but playing in these conditions is not easy, and it is important to manage the match by involving substitutes while maintaining effectiveness."
He spoke: "In the match against Bahrain, we hoped to score more goals, but the performance was good. I believe we are on the right track since the beginning of 2025, and we must continue on this pace; if we maintain this level, we will be present in the 2026 World Cup."
He concluded his statements: "I will choose the best 11 players from the available options, and we will determine the optimal way that gives us an advantage in the match."
