Monday 09-06-2025
The Italian club Inter Milan has officially announced the appointment of Cristian Chivu as the new head coach of the first team, with a contract extending until June 30, 2027. This appointment marks the third chapter in Chivu's relationship with the Nerazzurri, following his successful career as a player and then as a youth coach at the club.

Chivu was born in Reșița, Romania in 1980, and began his playing career at clubs like Ajax and Roma before moving to Inter in 2007. During his time with Inter, Chivu won numerous titles including the Italian league three times, the Coppa Italia twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 2009/2010.

After retiring from playing in 2014, Chivu began his coaching journey at Inter's youth academy, leading the spring team to win the league title in his first season. In February 2025, he took on his first coaching experience with Parma, guiding them to remain in the top division.

Chivu now embarks on a new challenge with Inter Milan, leading the first team, relying on the values of dedication and hard work that characterized his career as both a player and a coach.
