The English club Chelsea has officially announced its signing of French defender Mamadou Sar, coming from Strasbourg, on a long-term contract that extends until 2033.

Mamadou Sar is 19 years old and managed to attract attention during the past season with Strasbourg, where he participated in 28 matches across all competitions and contributed to leading his team to qualify for the playoff stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Sar joined Strasbourg last August and quickly established himself as a key player in the defense, participating in 27 matches in Ligue 1 and helping the team secure a seventh-place finish.

Mamadou Sar represents the French national team under 20 years old and is considered one of the most prominent rising defensive talents in French football.

Sar's signing comes as Chelsea prepares to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
