French national team star Kylian Mbappe appeared in press statements after the loss to Spain (5-4) in the UEFA Nations League semi-final.

Mbappe said in his remarks: "I didn't agree with the referee regarding the stoppage time, but if I said that, they would think I'm angry. When there are five minutes of stoppage time, you should play at least five minutes."

He added: "Regarding the match, I say we played well. We had some attacking attempts that we haven't had in a long time, but in just ten minutes of the first half, we conceded two goals, and the same happened in the second half."

He concluded: "We weren't consistent for the full ninety minutes, but we improved."

He finished regarding the team's defensive performance: "This is not an excuse; we are elite players. But not everything is negative. We feel anger and frustration, of course."
