Amorim: The season was disastrous, but good days are coming
Roberto Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, addressed the Old Trafford fans directly after the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, acknowledging that the current season has been disastrous, and he was keen to offer an apology and call for unity and optimism for the future.
Amorim said: "First, I want to apologize for this season, I know you are very frustrated with me and the team."
He added: "Secondly, I want to thank you, we are very grateful for your support throughout the season, I know it has been extremely difficult in many matches."
He continued: "Now we have to make a decision, are we going to remain stuck in the past? Because this season is now in the past, it is over, are we going to fight each other or unite and move forward?"
He clarified: "Six months ago, I said that the storm was coming, and today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you that good days are coming."
The Manchester United coach concluded his speech with a message of hope, saying: "If there is one club in the world that has proven its ability to overcome any situation or disaster, it is our club, it is Manchester United Football Club, thank you very much, see you next season."
