The suspension is due to Al-Sahafi's failure to settle a financial dispute with his former club, Al-Ittihad, where he was obligated to pay an amount of 3.5 million Saudi Riyals in favor of "The Grand" without reaching an agreement between the two parties so far.

The Disciplinary Committee had granted Al-Sahafi a period of thirty days to comply with the ruling issued by the Dispute Resolution Chamber, but the player did not adhere to the decision during the specified period.

The committee indicated in its statement that Al-Sahafi committed a clear violation of Article 90 of the Disciplinary and Ethical Regulations and confirmed his non-compliance with the Chamber's decision, necessitating the implementation of executive measures against him.

The decision of the Dispute Resolution Chamber was upheld by the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center, which confirmed Al-Ittihad's entitlement to its financial dues, putting Al-Sahafi in a complicated legal position that could end his career with Al-Faiha.
