
Guardiola: We Will Fight to Win Against Fulham to Qualify for the Champions League
Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, spoke about his team's preparations for the match against Fulham in the final round of the Premier League, scheduled to take place next Sunday at 6 PM Cairo and Mecca time.
Guardiola confirmed in the pre-match press conference the importance of the game, pointing out that Manchester City's goal is to win to ensure qualification for the Champions League next season. He said: "We only need one point to qualify, but we must win because the season has been tough and we need to finish it strongly."
Regarding the team's physical condition, Guardiola clarified that everyone is ready for the match except for defender Stones, who is still suffering from an injury, adding: "Rodri's return was special in the last match, and he is happy with the fans' reactions, but he is not ready to start against Fulham yet."
On the performance of star Erling Haaland, the Spanish coach said: "Haaland is improving day by day, and he will help us in the match against Fulham to qualify for the Champions League."
Regarding Phil Foden's decline in form, Guardiola indicated that he is paying special attention to supporting him: "We want to help Phil Foden return to his normal level in the new season."
In response to a question about the possibility of some players leaving during the summer transfer window, Guardiola refused to disclose any names or future deals before the end of the season, confirming: "I will not talk about departures or signings now."
Regarding Kyle Walker's participation in the Club World Cup, Guardiola noted that his current focus is solely on the Fulham match and qualifying for the Champions League, saying: "I don't think Walker will participate, and I'm not focusing on the Club World Cup right now."
