Mariska: Chelsea's Fate is in Our Hands, and Pressure is Part of the Club's Identity
Italian coach Enzo Mariska confirmed that his team has the privilege of determining its own fate in the race for qualification to the Champions League, ahead of the match against Nottingham Forest in the final round of the Premier League.
Chelsea is preparing for a crucial away match against Nottingham Forest, one of its direct competitors for a Champions League qualifying spot, in the 38th round, where all matches will be held on Sunday at the same time.
Mariska said: "We have a real privilege, which is that our fate is in our hands. I have no doubt about the players' ability to qualify for the Champions League."
He added: "Pressure is something normal in a club the size of Chelsea. From the moment you join this club, you feel the pressure. We don't need decisive matches to feel the pressure, because it is always present here."
He continued: "Personally, I felt the pressure from my first day with the team. Chelsea is a club that forces you to win, and that is what we are used to. We have won many matches this season, but we still have one final step to take, just one match we need to win, and it is the most important one."
The Italian coach also revealed the possibility of recovering some absent team members, saying: "Christopher Nkunku has returned to training in recent days, as well as Marc Guehi, and they are likely to be available for the match against Nottingham."
