Abdulghani Shahid: We presented a great match against Al-Qasim and deserved the win
Zakho Club coach Abdulghani Shahid expressed his complete satisfaction with the level his players showed during the match against Al-Qasim, which ended with his team winning two goals to none, confirming that the team has regained its balance and is starting to restore its identity after a period of decline.
Shahid said in statements after the match:
"We achieved an important victory against a respectable and organized opponent, even though the numerical disadvantage affected Al-Qasim, but we dealt with the match in a mature and professional manner. We scored at an ideal time, and it was possible to add more goals in the second half, but the most important thing is the three points."
He added:
"I am proud of the players' reaction; the team is going through a clear development phase since I took over. There is commitment and discipline within the group, and this is what we need in the upcoming rounds."
Regarding the goals scored in stoppage time of the first half, Shahid commented:
"We were pressing and getting close to scoring from the first minute, and we did not lose our focus despite the delay in scoring. The goals came at an excellent time that gave us comfort in the second half, and this is evidence of the maturity of the group and its ability to break the defensive block."
Shahid also praised the performance of his foreign players, saying:
"Marcelinho and Gustavo had an excellent match, as did the other team members. But I always focus on teamwork more than individual names, because what we achieve comes from the effort of the group."
He concluded his remarks by saying:
"We are working step by step; we still aspire to finish the season in the best possible position, and we have a legitimate ambition for a strong finish that satisfies the Zakho fans who deserve a lot."
