Argentinian star Lionel Messi, captain of the American club Inter Miami, expressed his sadness over the recent decline in his team's results, while also affirming his confidence in the team's ability to overcome this tough phase ahead of the anticipated participation in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Messi stated in press remarks following the 3-0 loss to Orlando City in Major League Soccer: "We are going through a tough time, but I believe we will overcome it. Now is the real time to show our ability to get through difficult times."

He added: "When things are going well, everything is easy, but in moments like these, we must be more united than ever and show how cohesive we are as a team."

He continued: "We have been suffering from a series of negative results lately, but we must continue our work and focus on the upcoming matches. We have 3 or 4 matches in May, and we need to finish them in the best possible way to be ready for the Club World Cup."

Inter Miami is scheduled to meet Al Ahly of Egypt in the opening match of the 2025 Club World Cup on June 15 at Hard Rock Stadium in the United States. Group A, alongside Al Ahly and Inter Miami, includes FC Porto from Portugal and Palmeiras from Brazil.
