Sampaoli: Saudi and Egyptian Players Have Huge Potential
Argentinian Jorge Sampaoli, the former coach of the Argentina and Chile national teams, revealed that he watches many Asian clubs with passion and expects them to be strongly present in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Sampaoli stated: "Clubs like Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia, Al Sadd from Qatar, or Al Ain from the UAE now have squads capable of delivering competitive performances against clubs from South America and Europe."
The Argentinian coach confirmed: "What we are witnessing in Saudi Arabia right now represents a true football boom; it is completely different from the short-term economic boom that China experienced."
He added: "What happened in China was merely a financial boom that was not built on solid football foundations, which is why it did not succeed, while what is happening today in Saudi Arabia stems from a clear football project that invests in infrastructure, local players, and brings in quality foreign players."
He noted: "The arrival of global stars to the Saudi league was not just a marketing step, but it has actually contributed to the development of local players and provided them with new tools for growth."
He concluded his statements: "Players in national teams like Saudi Arabia or Egypt have huge potential, and they can certainly play in Europe."
