A Spanish media report stated that the new Real Madrid coach, Xabi Alonso, rejects the continuation of French defender Ferland Mendy for the upcoming season.

Mendy's contract ends at the end of this season, but many reports have confirmed that the club renewed the player's contract until 2027 without announcing it.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Okdiario", Alonso does not intend to rely on Mendy next season, and therefore the club will place him on the market.

The royal club is working on signing Benfica's left-back Alvaro Carerras, who is 22 years old.

Many players are expected to leave this season, most notably Jesus Vallejo and Lucas Vazquez, while there are doubts about the continuity of Modric, Rodrygo, Ceballos, and Lunin.
