Leverkusen Agrees to Alonso's Departure to Real Madrid for Free
A British newspaper report stated that the German club Leverkusen has agreed to the departure of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid for free without any compensation.
Alonso had announced his departure from Leverkusen this summer, despite his contract ending in the summer of 2026, and he has a release clause between 10-20 million euros.
The British newspaper "The Telegraph" mentioned that Alonso reached an agreement to terminate his contract amicably with Leverkusen, without any financial compensation.
The newspaper added that Real Madrid will not pay any amount for the signing of Alonso to take over the coaching of the team following Carlo Ancelotti.
Alonso will sign a 3-year contract with Real Madrid, and he will take over the coaching of the team after the end of the Spanish league (May 25).
