Slovenian National Teams Director: We Respect Al Ahly's Decision Regarding Gradišar
A Slovenian national teams official revealed the truth about the possibility of a penalty for Nejik Gradišar, the Al Ahly Egyptian striker, if he refuses to join his national team for the upcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship this summer.
Media reports have confirmed that Al Ahly refuses to allow Gradišar to participate with the Slovenian national team in the European Championship due to its coincidence with the FIFA Club World Cup competitions next June.
Milinko Asimović, the director of Slovenian national teams, stated in an official statement that Al Ahly has not definitively responded to allowing Gradišar to participate in the European Championship.
Milinko said: "We certainly respect Al Ahly's decision, and Gradišar will not be penalized if he misses the tournament because we respect his career and wish him the best in the upcoming period."
It is worth noting that Al Ahly refuses to exclude Gradišar from its squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, as he is an essential and irreplaceable player.
