Al-Karkh Coach: We played a good match against Al-Shorta and deserved a positive result
The head coach of Al-Karkh Club, Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar, expressed his regret following the loss his team suffered against Al-Shorta with a score of one goal to none, in the match that took place at Al-Shaab International Stadium as part of the 32nd round of the Iraqi Stars League, emphasizing that his team performed well and deserved a better result had it not been for the lack of decisiveness in the final third.
He said: "The match was quite balanced, and our players displayed a heroic performance, but Al-Shorta capitalized on just one opportunity and managed to score, while luck was not on our side with the chances that came our way."
He added: "We were defensively organized, and we succeeded in shutting down the opponent's key players, and we tried to press more in the second half, but haste in front of the goal and some tactical decisions affected our ability to equalize the score."
He continued: "I have reservations about some refereeing aspects, but we cannot hold the referee responsible for the loss; what matters to me is that the team is starting to gain a clear identity on the field."
He went on: "We have a project that relies on young players with good potential, and we are striving to build a strong team capable of competing in the future, and today's performance reflects the work we are doing."
He added: "We will close the chapter on this match and begin preparing for the upcoming encounters, as the league is still ongoing and we must finish the season in the best possible way."
