Biserro: Zamalek Deserved to Win Against Al-Masry

Thursday 01-05-2025
The match between Zamalek and Al-Masry, held today in the third round of the decisive phase of the Premier League, ended in a goalless draw 0-0.

Biserro added in the press conference after the match: "The opposing team did not have opportunities like the ones we had, and we wasted many chances. I commend the players for their performance in the match and their determination, and the lack of luck prevented us from achieving victory today."

He continued: "This is the first match since I took over the coaching of Zamalek where there was ample time due to the break, unlike what was happening before where I did not have enough time to improve the team's quality."

He added: "There were players absent from today's match, and I am sad about not winning, but I am happy with the players' performance and commitment. All players, whether starters or substitutes, did what they had to do."

Regarding not relying on a two-striker formation in the match, Biserro said: "In the match against Smouha in the Cairo Cup, we played with a two-striker formation, and apart from the Smouha match, today we played a good match. The most important thing is organization and creating opportunities, which were double compared to the Smouha match, and we deserved to win against Al-Masry."

He added: "Al-Masry is one of the best defending teams, and despite that, we created many opportunities. Our competitors for the league title were luckier yesterday than Zamalek in today's match. We will play strongly until the end and will approach the remaining five matches with full focus, and it is possible that our competitors will stumble."
