Arsenal ousts Real Madrid and qualifies for the Champions League semi-finals
English club Arsenal continued its successful journey in the UEFA Champions League, qualifying for the semi-finals at the expense of Spanish side Real Madrid, following a 2-1 victory in the second leg of the quarter-finals, held this evening at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The match witnessed intense competition between the two teams, with Arsenal successfully opening the scoring in the 65th minute through their young star Bukayo Saka, who capitalized on a brilliant pass from his teammate Merino, placing the ball in the back of the net.
However, Real Madrid's response was swift, as Brazilian star Vinicius Junior managed to equalize just two minutes later, specifically in the 67th minute, taking advantage of a catastrophic defensive error from Arsenal's players.
But Arsenal was not satisfied with this result and succeeded in scoring the second goal in the 90+3 minute through Gabriel Martinelli.
Despite Real Madrid's attempts to come back, Arsenal maintained its defensive solidity until the final whistle, securing a spot in the Champions League semi-finals, benefiting from the first leg result which ended in a significant victory for the London team 3-0, thus sealing the qualification with an aggregate score of 5-1.
Arsenal is set to face French club Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, which also qualified at the expense of English side Aston Villa.
