Real Madrid and Vinicius Set for Contract Renewal Talks
Real Madrid is preparing to hold a meeting this week with the agents of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, in an effort to reach a mutual agreement regarding the renewal of his contract, which expires in the summer of 2027.
The management of Real Madrid confirms that the anticipated signing of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande will not impact Vinicius' standing within the team, as the club's priority remains to extend the player's contract and keep him as part of the club's project for the upcoming seasons.
Vinicius enjoys full support from Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who has expressed his desire for the player to remain, especially following reports linking Arsenal with an attempt to sign him during the current summer transfer window.
The main obstacle in the negotiations lies in the financial aspect, as Vinicius is demanding an annual salary of €30 million to agree to a renewal, while Real Madrid insists on a salary cap of no more than €20 million per year, making the upcoming meeting crucial in determining the player's future with the club.
