Flick: We achieved a great accomplishment, and we missed this player

Hans Flick, the coach of Barcelona, spoke at a press conference after qualifying for the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, despite losing to Dortmund 3-1 in the second leg of the quarter-finals, noting that the first leg was won by Barca 4-0.

The coach said: "We faced a very strong opponent, and the atmosphere was amazing. It is difficult to play this type of match. In the end, we qualified, and that was our goal."

He added: "The Champions League is the best tournament in the world. Being among the top four is great for the club and the team, reaching the semifinals for the first time in 6 years is a significant achievement."

He continued: "Inter or Bayern in the semifinals? I will sit at home and enjoy the match. I don't have a favorite team. I don't prefer one over the other."

He followed: "We played two matches, we won the first 4-0 and lost here 3-1. I believe we deserved to qualify for the semifinals, Dortmund made things very difficult for us, and the atmosphere was exceptional, but we are in the semifinals. It is important to analyze today's match, but we also played many consecutive matches, and that may be natural."

He emphasized: "We always want to deliver the same performance, but that is not always possible. We still trust ourselves, even though we were quite worried today. We are in the semifinals, and we should look at it positively. What the team achieved deserves appreciation. The road is still long, and we haven't reached the end. It is a day for joy. There wasn't overwhelming joy in the locker room, and I reminded them that we are in the semifinals, and then the atmosphere changed a bit, and they started to celebrate more."

He noted: "Was Pedri's absence as a starter to give him rest? Yes. Pedri has played a lot in the past weeks and needed rest. I think his participation was important, both with the ball and in defense."

He continued: "Did you miss Iñigo? I can confirm that. Iñigo had a yellow card, and we didn't want to take risks. That is why we gave him rest."

He concluded: "Should we give more value to what they did? I believe everyone realizes what the team has accomplished throughout the season."
