Officially.. Barcelona Announces Signing of Anthony Gordon

Barcelona Football Club has announced that it has reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign the English winger Anthony Gordon on a five-year contract, in a deal that cost the club's treasury 80 million euros plus add-ons.

Gordon was born on February 24, 2001, in Liverpool, and grew up in a family with Irish and Scottish roots that loves football. Despite supporting Liverpool in his childhood, the club released him at the age of eleven, after which he moved to the academy of arch-rival Everton, where he began his true journey towards stardom.

The player made his first-team debut for Everton at the age of 16 in the UEFA Europa League, before making his Premier League debut at 18, starting to attract attention with his great talent and continuous development. After four and a half years at Everton, including a short loan to Preston North End, he moved to Newcastle in January 2023.

Gordon quickly became one of Newcastle's standout stars, finishing his first full season with the team by scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists, earning the Player of the Season award, and continuing to follow in the footsteps of club legends like Paul Gascoigne, Alan Shearer, and Andy Cole.

The English star is considered one of the most developed wingers in Europe in recent years, thanks to his great speed, ability to dribble, high pressing, and teamwork, in addition to his tactical flexibility that allows him to play as a forward as well.

The player arrives at Barcelona after an outstanding season with Newcastle, where he was the team's top scorer and dribbler, enhancing coach Hans Flick's attacking options ahead of the new season, with great ambitions from the player to prove himself in the Catalan club's shirt.
