Stegen Nears Departure from Barcelona Amid Agreement Between Both Parties

Marc-André ter Stegen is heading towards leaving Barcelona during the summer transfer window, with a mutual desire between the player and the Catalan club to reach a suitable solution for all parties involved.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the German goalkeeper now knows that Barcelona does not rely on him as a primary option for the goalkeeper position, despite his contract running until the summer of 2028, leaving his future open this summer.

The newspaper added that Ter Stegen is open to considering offers, including those outside of Spain, in search of an opportunity that ensures regular play after a difficult period due to a left hamstring injury he sustained last February while playing with Girona.

The report clarified that both parties are seeking to reach a suitable agreement, with the possibility of him continuing with Barcelona remaining if no agreement is reached, especially given the strength of his contractual position.

The same source also indicated that the German goalkeeper does not rule out starting the preparation period with Barcelona and participating in some friendly matches to prove his readiness, while he is currently continuing his rehabilitation program at the Joan Gamper Sports City, and is expected to return to group training soon.
