
Benitez: My Departure from Real Madrid is Not Due to Cristiano Ronaldo
Spanish coach Rafael Benitez revealed the details behind his departure from Real Madrid, noting that he managed the royal club from July 2025 until January 2026.
Benitez said: "Cristiano Ronaldo was not the reason for my departure from Real Madrid, there was never any problem between us. He is a great player and truly a phenomenon."
He added in his talk: "I left due to some internal issues within the club, but they have nothing to do with Ronaldo."
Regarding the upcoming matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona: "Barcelona has the advantage before the two Clasico matches. Barcelona has reached a high level, especially with the young players. They have great energy and a strong desire to win."
It is worth mentioning that Benitez coached Real Madrid for only 25 matches.
