Beseiro: We Will Fight to Compete with Pyramids and Al Ahly for the League Title
Jose Beseiro, the coach of Zamalek, confirmed that his team will fight to compete for the league title following the victory achieved by the whites over Haras El Hodood today, Sunday.
Zamalek won against Haras El Hodood with a score of 2-0 in a match within the second round of the decisive phase of the Egyptian Premier League.
Beseiro said during the press conference after the match: "We deserved to win against Haras El Hodood, and we played a good match, as we managed to create several chances."
He continued: "I know that the performance gradually declined in the second half because Haras El Hodood relied on tracking the second ball."
He added: "The team succeeded in repositioning itself and renewing its motivation, which was not easy, especially after the recent loss to Stellenbosch and exiting the Confederation Cup."
He continued: "Everyone is sad about exiting the Confederation Cup, but we managed to be mentally present today and achieved a deserved victory."
He remarked: "I deployed Mustafa Shalaby as a second striker alongside Saif El-Jaziri, due to the scarcity of options available on the wing."
He elaborated: "Ahmed Fattouh also participated in a new position in midfield alongside Abdullah El-Said to create spaces."
He concluded: "Refereeing mistakes are inevitable in all circumstances, and the referee is like the coach or the player. In the match against Al Ahly in the first round of the league, the referee was foreign and did not award us a penalty that would have given us the win."
He finished: "We have 6 matches left, and we will fight to compete with Pyramids and Al Ahly for the league title, as long as Zamalek still has a chance to compete."
