Zamalek Faces Major Crisis: 15 Registration Suspension Cases and 306 Million EGP Required
Thursday 30-04-2026
The registration suspension crisis continues within Zamalek Club amid the accumulation of cases filed against it with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), with the number reaching 15 cases. This reflects the financial and administrative pressures the club is currently facing.

Zamalek is suffering from accumulated financial crises, which have led several former coaches and players, as well as various clubs, to file official complaints against the club due to unpaid financial dues.

FIFA recently announced the suspension of Zamalek's registration for the fifteenth time, with the latest case resulting from the failure to pay the third installment to the Ukrainian club Oleksandriya in the deal for player Juan Pizera.

According to reports, Zamalek needs to pay approximately $5,774,000, equivalent to about 306 million Egyptian pounds, in order to lift the registration ban and regain the ability to register new players.

The issues varied between dues owed to former coaches like Christian Gross and Jose Gomez, and their assistants, in addition to midfielder Ferjani Sassi, and several international deals whose payments have not been fully settled.

The list also included dues for European and African clubs, among them Oleksandriya from Ukraine, Saint-Étienne from France, Charleroi from Belgium, Renaissance Zemamra from Morocco, and Ittihad Tanger, in addition to dues for players like Ibrahima Ndaye and Ahmed Al-Jafali.

These crises place Zamalek Club in front of significant financial challenges, at a time when the club is striving to reorganize its affairs amidst increasing pressures related to registration issues and local and continental competitions.
