Wednesday 29-04-2026
The excitement returns to the clash of stars who have played for both Al Ahly and Zamalek, as the two teams meet in the much-anticipated derby within the Egyptian Premier League, in a match that carries many complex calculations in terms of competition.

The Cairo International Stadium will host the match between Al Ahly and Zamalek, scheduled to take place at 8 PM next Friday, as part of the fifth round of the Premier League's championship group, amid great anticipation from the fans.

Zamalek enters the match on the verge of winning the Egyptian League title, as they are close to securing the championship for the 15th time in their history. They could officially be crowned champions during the derby if they defeat Al Ahly, coinciding with Pyramids losing to Enppi.

On the other hand, Al-Ahly is entering the match under significant pressure, aiming to restore its prestige after a decline in its results this season. The team hopes to achieve a morale-boosting victory over its traditional rival, despite its challenging position in the race for qualification to the African Champions League.

Al Ahly's chances of winning the league have become almost non-existent, as they do not have their fate in their own hands, in addition to the inconsistent performance the team has shown this season compared to their rivals Zamalek and Pyramids.

At the level of the Egyptian Premier League standings, Zamalek leads the table with 50 points, followed by Pyramids in second place with 47 points, while Al Ahly holds the third position with 44 points.

The summit carries a special character due to the presence of several players who have defended the colors of both clubs, adding more excitement to the encounter and intensifying the rivalry on the field.

At the top of this list of stars is Ahmed Sayed Zizo, who is preparing to play his second major match in the Al Ahly jersey, alongside several prominent names such as Ashraf Bencharki, Emam Ashour, and Abdullah Al-Saeed, in a clash expected to be intense until the final moments.
