A Spanish media report stated that Real Madrid had submitted a request to La Liga to move their match against Deportivo Alavés, scheduled for Sunday.
According to the Spanish network "Ser", Real Madrid requested to advance the match to Saturday to gain more rest before their Champions League match against Arsenal.
The source added that Alavés had no objections to moving the match to Saturday instead of Sunday, but La Liga rejected Real Madrid's request.
Real Madrid will host Arsenal on Wednesday in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The first leg between the two teams ended with Arsenal winning 3-0.
