Rogers: We Trust Ourselves, and We Are Capable of Turning the Result
Thursday 10-04-2025
Morgan Rogers, the Aston Villa player, expressed his sadness after his team's loss to Paris Saint-Germain with a score of 3-1 in the match held at the Parc des Princes, as part of the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Rogers said: "It was a very difficult match, Paris Saint-Germain is indeed a strong team, they have stars in every position, and it is hard to face them physically and withstand them for 90 minutes. We fought, but in the end, their quality prevailed, and perhaps our mistakes helped as well."

He added: "We knew the task wouldn’t be easy, and we were aware of their great danger, but we didn’t come here to be mere spectators. We tried to show our character and compete on the field."

He continued: "The result is certainly not in our favor, but there is still another match at our home ground, and we will try to turn things in our favor."

He added: "We are here for a reason; we didn’t reach this stage just to participate. We have a real desire to continue, and we often prove our ability to compete with the strongest teams in the world."

In conclusion, Rogers emphasized the players' confidence in themselves, noting that the team will play the return leg with courage: "We have great confidence in the locker room; there is nothing to lose. No one expected us to win in Paris, so why not take a risk? We have the quality needed to turn the tables at Villa Park."
