Tuesday 08-04-2025
In exciting statements ahead of the match between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, Gavi, the star of the Catalan team, spoke about his level after returning from injury, his relationship with coach Hans Flick, and his ambitions with the club.

Gavi said: "I am very excited; this is my first time participating in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and we are all eagerly awaiting the match and aiming for victory."

He added: "I think my season has been great considering that I returned from a serious injury. I am happy with what I have delivered so far, and I feel that I am in my best form."

He continued: "Hans Flick and I understand each other very well; he knows that I am coming back from a tough injury and trusts my abilities. I am very happy to have him as the coach of the team."

He went on: "I play in several positions in midfield, which gives me an extra advantage. Flick sees me as an attacking midfielder, but I can also play as a pivot or a defensive midfielder. The more I play in various positions, the more I benefit."

He confirmed: "Yes, we are having a great season, but we don't feel invincible. We must remain humble and treat each match individually. We have big ambitions, but we focus on hard work in every game."

He explained: "The fans, of course, dream, and we are working hard to achieve as many titles as possible. Our biggest dream is to win the titles that make the fans proud, but we know that the road to titles starts with focusing on each match separately."

He added: "I was young when Barcelona won the treble for the first time, and we at La Masia dreamed of achieving it one day. My dream now is to win more titles with the team that I consider the best in the world."

Regarding his full return from injury, he said: "I am now in my best form, and since my return, I haven't noticed any changes in my performance on the pitch. This is important for me, and I feel that I have returned to how I was before the injury."

He continued: "It is a pleasure for me to return to my level after the injury, but I must remain humble. Great players learn how to deal with criticism; negative opinions don't matter to me. I am happy with what I deliver."

He went on: "I sign today that I will retire at Barcelona, but in football, the future is unpredictable. If the opportunity arises, I will stay here until my last day."

He concluded his talk by saying: "Flick helps me develop my performance both technically and personally. I am a person who loves to play all the time, and sometimes it is hard for me to accept not being a starter, but Flick gives me confidence, and I am grateful to him."
