Barcelona Targets Rodri, PSG in Talks with City
Paris Saint-Germain has officially entered the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri, after the French club opened talks with the English champions to explore the possibility of completing the deal during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
Paris Saint-Germain's interest comes at a time when the battle for the Spanish international intensifies, as Real Madrid already has an agreement with the player regarding personal terms. Meanwhile, Barcelona is also monitoring the situation due to the injury of Dutchman Frenkie de Jong and their desire to strengthen the midfield.
Despite several clubs entering the race to sign Rodri, reports confirm that his desire remains solely to join Real Madrid, giving the Spanish giants a clear advantage should an agreement be reached with Manchester City.
Rodri's contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2027, and the English club is working to persuade him to renew his deal, or to keep him until the end of his current commitment, in an effort to fend off interest from clubs looking to sign him.
