English-Italian Battle for Gerard Martin's Signature
Spanish defender Gerard Martin continues to attract interest from several European clubs during the summer transfer window, with both AC Milan and Chelsea entering the race to sign the Barcelona player, according to El Nacional.
The report indicated that Milan has substantially increased their bid, moving from €20 million to €35 million, in an attempt to persuade Barcelona's management to agree to sell the player during the current transfer window.
Despite the growing interest, Barcelona has no intention of letting Martin go easily. Reports confirm that coach Hansi Flick has informed the club's management of his clear desire to keep the player in the squad, opposing the idea of his departure this summer.
Thus, Gerard Martin's future remains linked to Barcelona's position, which prefers to retain the young defender despite increasing offers and strong interest from Milan and Chelsea.
Martin has showcased remarkable levels with the Catalan team in the past two seasons, especially given his ability to play as a left-back and center-back.
