Assistant Coach of Inter Milan: We Were in Control of the Match, But Lost Mental Energy
Saturday 05-04-2025
Massimiliano Farris, the assistant coach of Inter Milan, confirmed that his team was in control of the first half against Parma, but they lacked the mental and physical energy in the second half, leading to a 2-2 draw in the 31st round of the Italian league.

Farris stated in remarks after the match: "We will analyze the game with the players because we were completely in control in the first half, but in just two moments of complacency, we almost conceded goals. We shouldn't have given Parma those opportunities, but the team created many chances and deserved a better result."

He added: "We were leading 2-0 in the first half, but we couldn't maintain the required mental and physical energy to control the second half. Parma took advantage of that and came back into the game."

He continued: "Some players were physically affected by the last derby match, and Lautaro was returning from an injury and wasn't ready to play 90 minutes. We are trying to protect the players because we are competing on multiple fronts and need to avoid injuries."

He elaborated: "Parma ignited the match at a moment when we needed to maintain our focus. The issue was not with the substitutions, but with that spark that gave them confidence. At this time of the season, it is normal to find it difficult to maintain the same level for 90 minutes."

Farris concluded his remarks by saying: "We still have our fate in our hands, and we will now shift our focus to the match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The team is characterized by focusing on each match individually without being affected by the pressure. As for Bastoni, he is not suffering from a serious injury; he just needs some ice to recover."
