Argentinian Diego Simeone, coach of Atletico Madrid, confirmed that his team did not deliver the required performance in the match they lost against Getafe with a score of 2-1, emphasizing the need for improvement before facing Real Madrid next Wednesday.

Simeone stated: "The match was not enjoyable to watch, as each team tried in its own way. We did not perform as we should have, but despite that, we took the lead from a penalty. After that, there was Correa's red card, which may have been correct at first, but the referee decided to send him off. Then the opponent scored two similar goals. We have to accept the defeat because we did not manage the game well."

He added: "It is natural for the players to be frustrated, as the match ended only 20 minutes ago and no one is happy. We did not perform well, but we must remain united and seek improvement in our style of play."

The Argentinian coach explained: "We were unable to defend well in the final minutes and did not handle the opponent's long balls effectively. They played with courage, enthusiasm, and determination, and they deserved to win."

Simeone confirmed: "When the match is over, it is over. We cannot think about the referee, but rather focus on delivering a better performance."

He pointed out: "In the last 10-12 minutes, the opponent was braver and more effective in exploiting long balls, which is why they deserved to win."

Regarding Correa's red card, Simeone said: "We love him very much, and the red card will not change our feelings towards him."

The Atletico Madrid coach concluded his remarks by saying: "We were unable to deliver the match we aspired to, and we need to work on improving in the upcoming period."
