Koller: We knew the match wouldn't be easy
Marcel Koller, the coach of Al Ahly, confirmed that the match against Tala'ea El Gaish, which took place today, was not easy.
Al Ahly won against Tala'ea El Gaish with two goals to none in a match as part of the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Koller added in the post-match press conference: "We knew the match wouldn't be easy, and Tala'ea El Gaish played defensively well and tried to threaten us with counterattacks. Our attempts in the first half were few, which gave them the chance to organize their ranks, but in the second half, we started strongly and scored, and we could have scored more before the penalty. Now we will close this chapter and focus on what’s next."
Koller praised Gradychar, the star of the team, saying: "Gradychar did not play as a striker in this match, but he applied all the instructions given to him very well. As for Wissam Abu Ali, he is playing his second match as a starter; he had some opportunities but needs time, especially since he is returning from an injury. It’s not just a push of a button; he is working hard in training."
He continued: "We have 8 matches in the second half of the season, and Pyramids has an excellent team and has been winning lately. They have a winning streak and are continuing it, but our goal is to be in first place, so we must win our matches because the decision will be made at the end of the season."
