Norouz narrowly defeats Al-Hussein and qualifies for the quarter-finals
Norouz secured its qualification for the quarter-finals of the Iraq Cup after defeating Al-Hussein team in penalties (3-2), following a 2-2 draw at the end of regular and extra time.
The northern team started strong and opened the scoring early through their player "Rastko Fareeq" in the 8th minute, before Alaa Al-Dardiri doubled the lead with a second goal in the 29th minute, giving his team a comfortable advantage.
However, Al-Hussein club did not give up and quickly reduced the gap through their player "Haider Basim" in the 34th minute, from a penalty kick, bringing back the excitement.
The competition continued between the two teams until the first extra half, where Al-Hussein managed to equalize through "Hassan Mohammed" in the 90th minute, leading the match to penalties.
In the end, Norouz triumphed with a score of 3-2 in the penalties, securing a ticket to the quarter-finals of the Iraq Cup, while Al-Hussein team exited the tournament from the Round of 16.
