Vinicius: If Cristiano says I'm the best, then I am

Brazilian Vinicius Junior, the star of the Real Madrid team, was crowned with the awards for the best player in the world and the best striker for the year 2024, during the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, which was held today, Friday, December 27, in the Emirates, in the presence of an elite group of football legends and stars.

In his statements after the coronation, Vinicius expressed his happiness, saying: “I am very happy to receive this award alongside many stars. It took a lot of effort.” Work, and I thank everyone who was by my side.”

He added: “I represent children who grew up playing in the street, and that helped me a lot to reach where I am today.”

During the ceremony, Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo praised Vinicius, stressing that he deserved to win the Ballon d’Or this year, and the Brazilian star responded to that, saying: “If Cristiano says that I am the best... This is a great honor for me, he is my role model, besides Neymar."

Vinicius concluded his speech by thanking his family and his teammates at Real Madrid, Flamengo, and the Brazilian national team, wishing everyone a happy new year in 2025.
